Meg Downie was recruited by the Melbourne Football Club in 2016 and now plays in the AFL Women's competition. In the 2017 season she clashed with Collingwood’s Sophie Casey, which resulted in her being carried off on a stretcher. This experience has prompted her to support the research efforts of the Queensland Brain Institute and hopes that her story will help increase awareness around Concussion.

In the exclusive video interview below, she discusses her experiences with concussion, the recovery process, how players can protect themselves and the importance of awareness at a local level.
